WangLing Chou, a Professor of Art, has taught at Louisiana Christian University since 2008. She is the holder of the Eugenia Dawson Professorship in Art. Originally from Taiwan, Chou earned her MFA in ceramics from Kent State University. Chou repurposes recycled trash as mold to create vessels that capture the essence of animated animals. She employs a distinctive graphic novel style imagery to convey her profound philozoical passion. Her creations reflect her personal experiences, particularly her encounters with the realities of life and death on her small farm. Chou’s artistic prowess has earned her recognition on a national scale, with her works being featured in over 70 exhibitions across the United States. Her artistic endeavors have also garnered her nine national awards, including two times, first-place accolades at the River Oaks Square Arts Center’s national cup competition. Her works have been featured in publications such as the NCECA Journal, Hand-Building Techniques, by The American Ceramic Society, Louisiana Life, Pottery Making Illustrated, and SEEN by CIVA.
