The QEP Committee is proud to introduce LCU SERVES-Live Connected to the LCU campus faculty, staff, and students!

What is a QEP?

A Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a document created by an institution that recognizes keys issues identified by institutional assessment which focuses on student learning outcomes and student success that improve the quality of education and aimed at accomplishing the institutionā€™s mission.

Who is SACSCOC?

TheĀ Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges is the institutionā€™s accrediting body, reaffirmation takes place every 10 years.

When is the reaffirmation for LCU?

In March 2021, LCU hosted its reaffirmation with SACSCOC. The QEP committee presented the LCU SERVES-Live Connected and SACSCOC fully approved the plan. Implementation of the plan will begin in Spring 2022.

What is our QEP?

The committee chose service-learning, which is an aspect of experiential learning, as the focus of interest after careful review of the institutional strategic plan.

What does this mean to me?

To achieve our goals for a successful QEP, we must include the faculty and student body, therefore, the Service-Learning initiative will call for:

*every undergraduate major to include a service-learning course or course assignment/project *every undergraduate student to have at least 2 service-learning experiences (one in freshman orientation and one in the students major) by the end of the senior year *Louisiana Christian University will establish a Calling and Career Center and hire and a Director of Calling and Career to establish community partnerships

What are the 3 major student learning outcomes?

  1. Students will define service-learning
  2. Students will demonstrate understanding of the connection between service-learning and course subject matter
  3. Students will develop a sense of connection to community through service

What is the Louisiana Christian University mission statement? LCU is a Christ-centered community committed to Academic Excellence where students are equipped for Lives of Learning, Leading, and Serving.
