Heritage

Louisiana Christian University was founded in 1906 as Louisiana College. It took its current name on November 16, 2021. Louisiana Christian University is a private, Baptist coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences with selected professional programs. Built upon the principles of character and learning, the College has a tradition of outstanding academics and is the only Baptist, four-year institution in Louisiana.

Louisiana Christian University was founded as Louisiana College on October 3, 1906, in Pineville, Louisiana. It took its current name on November 16, 2021.

With a vision to Prepare Graduates and Transform Lives, LCU develops the intellect and maturity of students with curricular and spiritual principles characterized by three words: relevant, relational and rigorous.

Louisiana Christian University attracts students seeking a college that will reinforce and integrate their faith in more than 60 areas of study, and students credit professors for compassion and investment in the whole student. LCU was named a Top 30 Christian College by bestvalueschools.org.

The College offers financial assistance for qualified students through scholarships that can apply to its no-fee, flat-rate tuition. More than 96 percent of students receive some form of financial aid.

Life outside the classroom includes 13 men’s and women’s NAIA sports. Other opportunities to get involved include intramurals, theater, LCU band, Baptist Collegiate Ministries, service learning, internships, student government, mission trips, honor societies, and numerous student clubs.
