About Dr. George Alecusan

Dr. George D. Alecusan earned his B.A., double majoring in Political Science and History, from Ashland University, where he was an Ashbrook Scholar. He went on to earn his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Dallas. After completing graduate work, he taught at Richland College (now Dallas College-Richland Campus) and in Ashland University’s Correctional Education Program. 

Dr. Alecusan’s academic focus has been American, constitutional government. His dissertation considered the creation of American federalism, and he has been published on the subject of southern political thought in Antebellum America. Other academic areas of interest include American political thought, American military history, and Western political philosophy. 

Dr. Alecusan is proud to be a member of the Louisiana Christian University community. His desire is to provide a quality education for the student body, while challenging each student to affirm their faith and explore the importance of Christian values. 

Outside of the classroom, Dr. Alecusan enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He is also an avid sports fan.
