Mission
The Department of Christian Studies exists to prepare students for life-long vocational Christian ministry.
Students who major in Christian Studies will learn to love and serve the church from a world-class faculty with numerous years of experience in a context that marries local-church ministry with serious academic study. To offer hands-on training, we help facilitate opportunities for students to serve in local churches, take cross-cultural mission trips, attend seminary conferences, and participate in fellowships to enrich their educational experience.
Seminary Partnerships
For our students who wish to pursue seminary, we partner with several of our Southern Baptist seminaries to expedite graduate work. This means that students who graduate with a B.A. in Christian Studies will receive course credit or advanced standing toward their Masters degree, thus saving both time and money. Currently, we have partnerships with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Gateway Seminary.
To find out the particulars on how these partnerships work and to see a list of courses, please contact Dr. Justin Langford at justin.langford@lcuniversity.edu.
