Faculty & Professor Resources

The Wildcat Flex Advantage program depends on timely and accurate textbook adoptions. This page provides information on submitting adoptions, using publisher courseware, ordering desk copies, and finding support.

Submitting Textbook Adoptions

Please Include:

  • Digital ISBN-13 (verify the ISBN using VitalSource)
  • Edition
  • Required or Optional designation
  • Publisher courseware requirements, if applicable

Physical Textbooks

If you plan to require a physical textbook instead of a digital resource:

  • SelectΒ No Text RequiredΒ in Verba Collect.
  • Communicate the required textbook information directly to your students.
  • The Exchange will not process physical textbook adoptions.
  • Students will be responsible for purchasing physical textbooks independently.

Please submit all textbook adoptions before the published deadlines.

  • Fall Semester
  • Spring Semester
  • Summer Semester

Updating Adoptions

"Beginning August 2026, no one will be able to update adoptions following the adoption deadline. This is due to the new Enhanced Billing Program and the new billing style for Wildcat Flex Advantage. Student Wildcat Flex Advantage charges (textbook fees) are now based on the adoption status for the courses they are enrolled in. This means that professors will no longer be able to remove or add textbooks to their courses after the deadline. We encourage departments to work together to ensure that all textbook adoptions are complete before the deadline."

No Text Required

If your course does not require textbooks or paid course materials:

  1. Log in to Verba Collect.
  2. Select your course.
  3. Mark the course asΒ No Text Required.

You will continue receiving reminder emails until every course has either a textbook adoption or has been marked asΒ No Text Required.

VitalSource Availability

Whenever possible, courses participating in the Wildcat Flex Advantage program should use materials available through the VitalSource catalog.

Faculty are encouraged to verify ISBN availability before finalizing textbook adoptions to help prevent:

  • Delayed student access
  • Incorrect textbook links
  • Unavailable digital materials

Publisher Courseware

If your course uses publisher courseware, please verify the following before classes begin:

  • Canvas integration is active.
  • The publisher link appears correctly within Canvas.
  • The courseware connection has been tested.

Some publishers allow faculty to complete setup independently, while others may require assistance fromΒ The Exchange.

  • McGraw-Hill Connect
  • Pearson MyLab
  • Cengage MindTap
  • Hawkes Learning

Open Educational Resources (OER)

If your course uses Open Educational Resources (OER):

  • Provide stable access links for students.
  • SelectΒ No Text RequiredΒ in Verba Collect when no paid materials are required.
