LCU’s $48M Impact in CENLA
Louisiana Christian University is among the 10 regionally accredited nonprofit private colleges and universities that generate significant economic impact through more than 27,000 jobs and $2.6 billion.
According to a study commissioned the Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (LAICU), Louisiana Christian University and others provide accessible top-quality education for the people of Louisiana and attract new talent to the state.
āThis is another reminder of the exponential impact that Louisiana Christian University makes that goes beyond economics and the top-quality education that LAICU cited in a recent press release,ā said Rick Brewer, president of Louisiana Christian University.

Relying on data from the 2016 (2015-2016) fiscal year, the economic impact study commissioned by LAICU revealed Louisiana Christian University generates $34,749,751 in newly produced goods and services, $13,248,736 in new household income, and supports 385 private sector jobs in the Alexandria/Pineville metro area.
The total impact of the 10 LAICU member institution show they generate a total of approximately $2.64 billion in annual economic activity, along with approximately $936 million in household earnings, andare responsible for a total of more than 27,100 private sector jobs.
Additional substantial economic impacts are: household earnings by alumnae and alumni; economies of scale relative to the provision of higher education to the people of the state of Louisiana; external research investments these schools attract and the commercialization of research generated by these colleges and universities; and, the de facto incentives these colleges and universities provide to corporate recruitment and retention for the region because of their presence, strong educational output, and talent/workforce development Louisiana.
LAICU is a statewide nonprofit association which represents Louisianaās 10 regionally accredited nonprofit private colleges and universities: Centenary College, Dillard University, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University, Louisiana Christian University, Loyola University New Orleans, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Saint Joseph Seminary College, Tulane University, University of Holy Cross, and Xavier University of Louisiana.
