Health Promotion students to hold lifestyle presentations

Health & Exercise Science students at Louisiana Christian University will hold healthy lifestyle presentations Monday and Wednesday that are open to the public who are interested in making healthier lifestyle choices at work.

HP 403 Health Promotion in the Workplace is taking what they have learned and offering informative and hands-on demonstrations that others can learn from and use, said Dr. Sonia Tinsley, chair of the Department of Health and Exercise Science.

“Students will present on what most employees want to learn more about incorporating at the workplace,” Tinsley said, “physical activity, stress management, nutrition, managing diabetes, heart health, etc. However, the information is applicable to anyone not just employees.”

The presentations are designed specifically for the workplace, and all employees are invited to attend sessions, which will be held on Oct. 2 and 4 in H.O.West Classroom 101. Feel free to stop by for one or all of the presentations. The schedule is listed below:

 

Monday – Oct. 2

  • 9:05 a.m. – Physical Activity in the Workplace
  • 9:25 a.m. – Nutrition in the Workplace
  • 9:45 a.m. – Weight Management in the Workplace

Wednesday – Oct. 4

  • 9:05 a.m. – Stress Management
  • 9:25 a.m. – Heart Health – Blood pressure and cholesterol
  • 9:45 a.m. – Diabetes
