Guinn Rededication

A Rededication Celebration of Guinn Auditorium

Louisiana Christian University will rededicate the centerpiece of its campus, the refurbished Guinn Auditorium, on Sunday, September 30 at 5pm.

“We especially want to honor the legacy of G. Earl Guinn, a 1937 alumnus of LCU who served as our fifth president,” said Dr. Rick Brewer, president of Louisiana Christian University. “Upgrades to the auditorium reflect the commitment to excellence that was the hallmark of Dr. Guinn’s presidency.”

Special guests include the husband and wife team of Ragan Courtney and Cynthia Clawson, as well as accomplished organist Rodney Pendell from Charleston, SC.

Courtney, a 1964 alumnus of LCU, is a gifted communicator, playwright, poet, and a deeply spiritual thinker and writer. He is widely known as the lyricist of the famed Christian musical “Celebrate Life!” His play, “The Earl of Ruston,” premiered on Broadway.

Clawson is a Grammy Award-winning American gospel singer. She has been called “The most awesome voice in gospel music” by Billboard Magazine, and has received five Dove Awards, 15 Dove Award nominations, and a Grammy for her work.

“Mr. Pendell is one of the most talented organists in Charleston, South Carolina, if not in the entire state,” Brewer said. “Rodney’s engaging accompaniment will encourage everyone attending the rededication celebration.”

“We are elated with our stunning new facility,” said Brewer, noting that the sound system, flooring, seats, walls with colorful up-lighting, and HVAC are all new.

“Our alumni and friends are encouraged to attend the rededication,” Brewer added. “But for those who are unable to be here, the service may be viewed online from a link on our homepage at www.lcuniversity.edu.”
