About

Mrs. Desselle grew up having an interest in sports and in high school she worked as a student athletic trainer for the Tioga High School football team. This led to a passion for athletic training and working as a student athletic trainer for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Mrs. Desselle obtained her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in May of 2015. During her undergraduate degree, Mrs. Desselle developed a special interest in the rehabilitation of injury and in her last semester worked as a student intern in an outpatient clinic in Lafayette, Louisiana. This interest led her to attend the Louisiana Christian University Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program. She completed the PTA program in July of 2017 with an Associates of Applied Science.

Immediately after graduation, Mrs. Desselle began working at a skilled nursing facility in Natchitoches, Louisiana where she worked for 1 year. Mrs. Desselle took a year off from full-time work to be with her son who had special medical needs. During this time, Mrs. Desselle continued to work as needed or PRN in both skilled nursing facilities and outpatient clinics. She has been employed by Louisiana Christian University since August of 2019 starting as the Laboratory Assistant. Mrs. Desselle now serves as the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education and Assistant Professor for the PTA program. Mrs. Desselle developed a passion for teaching and leading students in the field of Physical Therapy, which led her to obtain her Master degree in Educational Leadership at LCU. Mrs. Desselle maintains professional membership in the APTA and LPTA organizations and continues engage in clinical practice PRN at local skilled nursing facilities.

When not at work, Mrs. Desselle enjoys spending time with her two children Nolan and Vivian, her husband Christian, and her extended family. She also enjoys vacation planning, traveling, spending time outdoors, and watching sports. She is an active member of a local church where she helps with children’s ministry on Wednesday nights.
