About Enrico Cannella

Enrico Cannella (Tenor) hails from Alexandria, LA. He received his bachelor’s and Master of Music degrees in Vocal Performance from Louisiana State University. Since then, Enrico has performed across the country in styles ranging from Opera to Musical Theatre to Film and Studio Recording. Enrico was most recently seen as Shrek in Shrek the Musical and Gomez Addams in The Addams Family at Jefferson Performing Arts Society. Additionally, he was awarded New Orleans’ most prestigious award, The Big Easy Award, for Best Actor in a Musical for his role as Quasimodo in Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Enrico has also appeared as a vocal recording artist for AMC’s Interview with a Vampire and Windstar Cruise line. He has also performed on the stages of Opéra Louisiane, Theatre Baton Rouge, and with the Opera Fest Singers.  Enrico specializes in employing tenants and technical foundations of classical technique to produce the musical theatre vocal styles for the pop, rock, and Golden Age genres in seamless transition which promotes both vocal health and longevity. A rare find in today’s modern vocal pedagogy, Enrico has dedicated the most recent 10 years of his professional career developing a technique of incorporating impressive acoustic sounds using the lost art in America of applying Italian classical technique to discover an individual’s natural voice and instrument to produce modern pop and musical theatre sounds. Enrico states, “The result is an individual with a unique sound with layers of colors and subtexts specific to them and produced with the finesse, strength, and health that is virtually nonexistent in today’s Musical Theatre singers and pedagogues leading to a level of skill far beyond what is considered ‘top tier’ talent by today’s standards increasing both employability, range of skill, and most importantly longevity.”
