About Dr. Theodore Chiasson

Dr. Theodore Chiasson is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Coordinator of the Computer Science Department. He joined Louisiana Christian University in Fall 2021. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 2003.

Prior to joining LCU, Dr. Chiasson served at a number of diverse international academic institutions. Most recently, he taught Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Hawaii Maui College for three years. He was the Dean on Information Technology at College of the North Atlantic – Qatar in Doha, Qatar for 10 years, managing a school with over 500 computing majors. Prior to moving to Qatar, Dr.  Chiasson was the director of the Master of Electronic Commerce program at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. He also has extensive industry experience, having served as Chief Security officer, CIO, and director of information services for companies in various sectors. Dr. Chiasson is passionate about engaging youth with technology in ways that can influence their career choices and opportunities.
