About Dr. Christy Warren

Dr. Christy Warren grew up in a small rice-farming town in south Louisiana. Her parents were teachers, so education has always played an important role in her life.  She graduated from Louisiana Christian University with a degree in Elementary Education. As an undergraduate student at Louisiana Christian University, she met her husband, Wade Warren, also a current professor at the college. Texas A&M University is where she earned her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction along with a Reading Specialist Certification and a Language Arts Supervision Certification. Her Doctor of Philosophy is in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans. Her classroom teaching experiences include teaching first and third grades and also supervising student teachers from Texas A&M. Currently, she teaches the reading and language arts methods courses in the undergraduate program.  She also teaches courses in the MAT and M.Ed. graduate programs. She has two married daughters Casey (Michael) and Chloe (Dallan). They are all graduates of Louisiana Christian University. Her favorite things include collecting children’s literature, reading books, going to flea markets, and spending time with family and her three cats. She attends Kingsville Baptist Church where she and Wade lead the College Sunday School class. She feels grateful to be able to teach at her alma mater and be a part of training effective teachers for the children of today.
