Description of Position:
Louisiana Christian University seeks a qualified and experienced Instructional Designer to work collaboratively with administrative and faculty leadership. The Instructional Designer leads the design, development, and redesign of interactive online courses using a variety of digital resources and collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop and revise courses in a way that enhances student engagement and learning outcomes. The successful candidate possesses an in-depth knowledge of the pedagogical practices that support technology-enhanced and online learning, as well as experience with a wide range of learning technologies that support high-quality teaching and learning in online environments. The continuous learning and dissemination of knowledge of the latest proven tools and techniques by the Instructional Designer will be essential to foster the highest possible level of proficiency among faculty members. In addition, the Instructional Designer actively facilitates faculty development in pedagogy and instructional design theory, and techniques and technologies that facilitate learning through consultations, seminars, and workshops. The Instructional Designer works with the Faculty Support Specialist to provide troubleshooting support to ensure all personnel are effectively delivering instruction using the Learning Management System and related teaching tools within the department and courses. The Instructional Designer works with the Coordinator of Distance Learning to recommend procedures to ensure state, federal, and accreditation policies related to instruction, curriculum, and course design. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop materials for training sessions, including functional templates for online learning modules.
- Develop, recommend, and implement instructional guidelines, procedures, and practices that foster LCU’s online mission and promote student learning and academic success.
- Meet regularly with deans, chairs, and program directors to receive input on planning for online curriculum, instruction, and course design.
- Provide individualized assistance to faculty redesigning or converting online courses.
- Ensure appropriate Quality Matters standards for quality online education are met or exceeded.
- Analyze student learning outcomes and devise modes of assessment to measure the effectiveness of the outcomes for each course.
- Ensure that coursework follows best-practices design and accreditation standards.
- Ensure faith and learning experiences are part of the curriculum design.
- Stay current with trends in online technology and best practices of teaching and learning; make recommendations about potential technological and pedagogical adjustments.
- Demonstrate skills in learning theories to support effective pedagogical and andragogical principles to support the effective teaching and learning of online students (traditional and non-traditional).
- Oversee piloting and evaluation phases of newly redesigned or developed online courses.
- Develop/lead faculty development training sessions in strategies and tools for online instruction.
- Plan, manage, and provide faculty development and training in the use of instructional technology in course development, assessment of student outcomes, and best-practice teaching and learning methodologies for online education.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in distance education administration, education technology, curriculum and instruction, or instructional design, preferred. Will also consider a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, higher education, or a closely related field with previous curriculum development and/or instructional design experience.
- Substantial experience in online higher education, including teaching online and administrative/supervisory responsibilities.
- Proven work experience in instructional design and with instructional technology in higher education.
- Strong writing, verbal, listening, organizational, and leadership skills required.
- High attention to detail.
- High level of energy, enthusiasm, and motivation.
- Demonstrated training in a course quality initiative, preferably Quality Matters.
- Excellent knowledge of lesson planning, curriculum design, and adult learning theories, instructional design models, strategies, and best practices.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously and within designated deadlines.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and SARA agreements.
- Knowledge of streaming audio and video, file types and formats, and experience with learning management software.
- Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge.
- Solid knowledge of course development and online learning tools and at least one Learning Management System (Turnitin, VoiceThread, Jenzabar, Canvas).
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard.

Full-Time Tenure-Track Faculty Position
The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Louisiana Christian University seeks to fill a tenure-track position in Biology to begin August 1, 2024.
Description of Position
Louisiana Christian University has a long tradition of excellence in preparing students for graduate and professional schools. The BS in Biological Sciences and in Applied Biology are foundational degree programs for preparing graduates for medical, dental, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other professional schools. LCU’s Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position to teach Biology coursework as part of these degree programs.
Applicants will need to demonstrate teaching competencies in both lecture and laboratory courses that will include the candidate’s specialty area as well as other specific needs in the department. Courses are delivered in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. The position also requires that the faculty member be available for advising students and serve on university committees. Faculty development through scholarship activities including travel and research with undergraduates is strongly encouraged and funding is available through an endowment.

The Young School of Business at Louisiana Christian University (LCU) invites applicants for the Mary Martin Fowler Endowed Chair of Accounting as a tenure-track Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor of Accounting beginning Fall 2025. Duties and Responsibilities
Applicants need to demonstrate abilities to engage students in learning both in the classroom and online. Responsibilities of the position include serving as an academic advisor to students, participating on university committees, overseeing curriculum development and assessment for the business and accounting degrees, and assisting the School with its student recruitment efforts. Faculty development through scholarship activities is encouraged with funding available through an endowment.
All full-time faculty are expected to teach courses, hold office hours, and participate fully in departmental, collegiate, and university activities; to engage in scholarly/creative activity; contribute to departmental and university work; advise students; participate in recruitment events and activities, and demonstrate a commitment to professional development. Qualifications
- Possess an earned PhD or DBA in Accounting, or a closely related field, from a nationally or regionally accredited institution (ABD will be considered with a firm completion date).
- Qualifications to teach Data Analytics, or Finance classes in addition to Accounting courses is a significant advantage

The Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing is responsible for the day-to-day activities of a course (i.e. grades, schedules, syllabi, calendars, etc.) as well as lecture/classroom theoretical content with practical learning experiences in clinical supervision. Position is tenure track with salary and rank based on candidate’s qualifications. Candidate must demonstrate a vital Christian faith and integrate Christian faith with teaching and learning. Twelve-month position to begin as soon as position is filled.
Responsibilities:
- Teaches one or more subjects within prescribed curriculum using a variety of teaching methodologies to facilitate and engage students in the learning process.
- Embraces and integrates the Christian mission and vision of LCU, the nursing program mission and philosophy, student learning outcomes, the curriculum model and clinical expectations.
- Facilitates student application of theory to clinical.
- Communicates effectively utilizing professional techniques with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students.
- Identifies and immediately communicates problem areas/clinical areas of concern to lead faculty and recommends changes and solutions as appropriate.
- Provides weekly or as needed communication with School of Nursing leadership concerning student progress including successes, identified needs, clinical issues, suggestions, and professional learning needs.
- Demonstrates quality nursing care, problem solving skills, effective use of resources, collaboration with other health professionals and professional standards as outlined by the School of Nursing.
- Adheres to and enforces the policies and procedures of Louisiana Christian University, the School of Nursing, and the clinical facility assigned.
- Cooperates with university administration.
- Remains current with new trends and development in his/her field of expertise.
- Participates in faculty development and professional organizations: research, scholarly projects, and publications.
- Must maintain the equivalent of a four-course load (12 credit hours).
Duties related to the School of Nursing:
- Plans learning experiences (i.e. classroom activities, pre/post conferences, and clinical assignments for student supervision, evaluation and feedback conferences).
- Prepares written evaluation materials (i.e. syllabi, tests, handouts, etc.) for submission and duplication in a timely manner.
- Manages schedule to ensure regular and prompt attendance at all required course activities, University committees, and faculty meetings.
- Plans and schedules teaching and clinical/lab activities for curriculum courses and teaching.
- Effectively demonstrates excellence in classroom teaching.
- Stimulates class discussions and student participation.
- Creates an atmosphere that fosters critical thinking.
- Compiles, administers, and grades examinations in a timely manner.
- Adheres to University policies in grading and posting of grades
- Controls and monitors ongoing instructional activities and systems in order to maintain adherence of prescribed standards and student evaluation.
- Holds students accountable for the acquired competency in their performance, and assists students in re-mediation to acquire and maintain competence.
- Motivates students through instructional and counseling activities toward high levels of contribution to the discipline.
- Conducts conferences with students concerning academic and clinical competence and progress.
- Records and maintains data for student records, grades, accreditation, and school studies (i.e. test item banks, course evaluation portfolio, annual course reports, etc.).
- Coordinates and manages the course implementation in consultation with members of the teach team.
- Participates in scholarship through teaching, application, and the integration, and discovery of knowledge.
- Participates in recruitment and retention programs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Qualifications:
Minimum master’s degree in nursing; earned or pursuing a doctorate in nursing or terminal degree preferred. Experience in student assessment and evaluation preferred but will mentor novice faculty. Current unencumbered registered nurse (RN) licensure for professional practice with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.

Music Instructor Pool - Adjunct/PT
Louisiana Christian University is seeking qualified applicants to build a pool of part-time adjunct music instructors. Positions will be offered as needed depending on departmental needs. Potential openings include: (a) private instruction in at least one orchestral or band instrument and (b) courses in music ministry/worship arts.
REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates will hold at least a master’s degree with a concentration in music performance, music education, music ministry, or comparable field. Preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate an ability to teach students who possess a broad range of musical abilities and backgrounds.
