The Program is unique with its 15-hour healthcare/behavioral health concentration and its biblical worldview foundation. Academically melding the values of social work and the Christian faith is integral to the application of Social Work skills in the marketplace.

The Social Work Behavioral Healthcare Education and Workforce Improvement Project MSW Stipend Application & Information

The LCU MSW stipend aids students in completing their MSW degree with a healthcare/behavioral health specialization. The overall goal of this project is to encourage students to commit to working in the field of behavioral health in the 9-parish region of Central Louisiana post MSW graduation. The stipend amount is $3,000 ($1500 per semester) during the recipient’s advanced standing/second year of the MSW Program. LCU's Bachelor and Master of Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education’s Board of Accreditation.

Accreditation of a baccalaureate or master’s social work program by the Council on Social Work Education’ Board of Accreditation indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of program quality evaluated through a peer review process.  An accredited program has sufficient resources to meet its mission and goals and the Board of Accreditation has verified that it demonstrates compliance with all sections of the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. 

Accreditation applies to all program sites and program delivery methods of an accredited program. Accreditation provides reasonable assurance about the quality of the program and the competence of students graduating from the program.
