PURPOSE:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Direct, oversees, and manages the intercollegiate men’s basketball program, recruits, and recommends hires for the coaching and support staff.

Recruit students in accordance with Louisiana Christian University, NAIA, and the Red River Athletic Conference policies and guidelines.

Ensure that men’s basketball is in compliance with all Louisiana Christian University, NAIA, and the Red River Athletic Conference guidelines, rules and regulations. Provides all necessary reports and statistics periodically.

Visit area and regional high schools and community colleges to recruit student athletes.

Direct the on-court and classroom instructions and coaching in basketball techniques and strategy on the basketball program; evaluates individual performance and provides leadership and instruction in areas of deficiency.

Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters; consults with administrators and faculty for resolutions of problems.

Schedule the games for the men’s basketball team; makes lodging, meal and transportation arrangements, orders equipment and uniforms, maintains the inventory, cleaning and maintenance of equipment within the budget provided by the University.

Represent Louisiana Christian University at professional, civic, charity and alumni events.

Direct the development of reports and analysis setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

Direct the personnel activities in the men’s basketball program including disciplining, training, merit recommendations, promotions and transfers.

Monitor academic progress of student athletes, counsels students and assists them in solving problems.
- Performs other related duties as required. (i.e. Event Management)

- Direct on-field and classroom instructions and coaching in soccer techniques and strategy on the soccer program; evaluates individual performance and provides leadership and instruction in areas of deficiency.
- Assist the Head Men’s Coach in setting up the soccer field for all practices and games.
- Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary, and personal matters; consults with administrators and faculty for resolutions of problems.
- Schedule the games for the women’s soccer team; make lodging, meal and transportation arrangements; order equipment and uniforms; maintain the inventory, cleaning and maintenance of equipment within the budget provided by the University.
