Current Open Positions:
Louisiana Christian University’s Rife and Carolyn Saunders School of Nursing is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to serve as the Dean of Nursing. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for the School of Nursing and Allied Health, the Dean works collaboratively with academic colleagues to ensure the quality of all academic offerings of the University. The Dean fosters excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service while promoting a highly productive and collegial work environment. As a leader, the Dean oversees the strategic governance of the nursing program; promotes the University and the School of Nursing mission and goals; supervises and ensures program assessment, evaluation, and accreditation processes, and serves on key committees and task groups as needed. The Dean assists with recruiting and mentoring the faculty and staff, manages the budget, and oversees the resources, facilities, equipment, and initiatives that support a dynamic classroom, laboratory, research, and clinical experience for students. Twelve-month tenure-track faculty position; rank and salary commensurate with qualifications. Review of applications/nominations will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Appointment date August 1, 2024.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Building relationships within the University campus and with external community stakeholders;
- Promoting and maintaining effective communications between the academic community and the cooperating agencies;
- Arranging and maintaining contractual agreements with cooperating community agencies;
- Managing external funds;
- Partnering with institutional colleagues on fundraising and grant writing initiatives;
- Engaging in professional activities and associations at the regional and national level;
- Teaching in line with her/his academic interests and participating in continuing education programs to increase knowledge and skills;
- Ensuring an excellent education to students in a rigorous yet supportive environment;
- Traveling throughout the state and in surrounding states to build relationships, strengthen partnerships, and recruit students from hospitals and community/technical colleges;
- Developing curriculum pathways and collaborating with community and technical college for fast-track degree plans and advanced degrees.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree from an accredited institution in nursing, education, or a related field appropriate to the duties of the position and must hold a master’s degree in nursing.
Additional required experience, knowledge, and qualifications include the following:
- Distinguished career in nursing practice, education, and/or research;
- Record of accomplishment in teaching, scholarship, and service to qualify for appointment at the rank of associate professor;
- Demonstrated leadership, administrative, and supervisory experience;
- Experience in building and sustaining external relationships with clinical and community partners;
- Experience with traditional on-campus undergraduate programs, post-baccalaureate accelerated/hybrid programs, and online teaching modalities;
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment, including online course delivery, engaged learning, simulation, and use of instructional technology;
- Knowledge of program accreditation and faculty governance;
- Active engagement in professional associations;
- Effective management of fiscal resources, strategic planning, and program development.
License
Must be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Louisiana. Lack of adverse findings on a Criminal Background Check.

Full-Time Tenure-Track Faculty Position
The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Louisiana Christian University seeks to fill a tenure-track position in Biology to begin August 1, 2024.
Description of Position
Louisiana Christian University’s Department of Natural Sciences / Mathematics is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position to teach Mathematics. Recent additions to the academic program of Computer Science and Pre-Engineering have broadened the range of mathematics coursework required for our students. LCU is looking for a versatile instructor to join this important sector of the academic program.
Applicants will need to demonstrate teaching competency in Mathematics. Some training/expertise in Computer Science, specifically programming, would be a strong plus to complement these allied programs. The position also requires that the faculty member be available to advise students and have a willingness to serve on college committees. The successful candidate will assist in curriculum planning and mapping to guide the direction of the Math program and its coordination with other science disciplines. Faculty development through scholarship activities including travel and research with undergraduates is strongly encouraged and funding is available through an endowment.

The Young School of Business at Louisiana Christian University (LCU) invites applicants for the Mary Martin Fowler Endowed Chair of Accounting as a tenure-track Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor of Accounting beginning Fall 2023. The ability to teach in multiple areas, particularly Data Analytics or Finance, is a strong advantage. Rank will be determined by the qualifications of the successful applicant.

Duties and Responsibilities
Applicants need to demonstrate abilities to engage students in learning both in the classroom and online. Responsibilities of the position include serving as an academic advisor to students, participating on university committees, overseeing curriculum development and assessment for the business and accounting degrees, and assisting the School with its student recruitment efforts. Faculty development through scholarship activities is encouraged with funding available through an endowment.

Qualifications
- Possess an earned PhD or DBA in Accounting, or a closely related field, from a nationally or regionally accredited institution (ABD will be considered with a firm completion date).
- Qualifications to teach Data Analytics, or Finance classes in addition to Accounting courses is a significant advantage

The Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing is responsible for the day-to-day activities of a course (i.e. grades, schedules, syllabi, calendars, etc.) as well as lecture/classroom theoretical content with practical learning experiences in clinical supervision. Position is tenure track with salary and rank based on candidate’s qualifications. Candidate must demonstrate a vital Christian faith and integrate Christian faith with teaching and learning. Twelve-month position to begin as soon as position is filled.
Responsibilities:
- Teaches one or more subjects within prescribed curriculum using a variety of teaching methodologies to facilitate and engage students in the learning process.
- Embraces and integrates the Christian mission and vision of LCU, the nursing program mission and philosophy, student learning outcomes, the curriculum model and clinical expectations.
- Facilitates student application of theory to clinical.
- Communicates effectively utilizing professional techniques with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students.
- Identifies and immediately communicates problem areas/clinical areas of concern to lead faculty and recommends changes and solutions as appropriate.
- Provides weekly or as needed communication with School of Nursing leadership concerning student progress including successes, identified needs, clinical issues, suggestions, and professional learning needs.
- Demonstrates quality nursing care, problem solving skills, effective use of resources, collaboration with other health professionals and professional standards as outlined by the School of Nursing.
- Adheres to and enforces the policies and procedures of Louisiana Christian University, the School of Nursing, and the clinical facility assigned.
- Cooperates with university administration.
- Remains current with new trends and development in his/her field of expertise.
- Participates in faculty development and professional organizations: research, scholarly projects, and publications.
- Must maintain the equivalent of a four-course load (12 credit hours).
Duties related to the School of Nursing:
- Plans learning experiences (i.e. classroom activities, pre/post conferences, and clinical assignments for student supervision, evaluation and feedback conferences).
- Prepares written evaluation materials (i.e. syllabi, tests, handouts, etc.) for submission and duplication in a timely manner.
- Manages schedule to ensure regular and prompt attendance at all required course activities, University committees, and faculty meetings.
- Plans and schedules teaching and clinical/lab activities for curriculum courses and teaching.
- Effectively demonstrates excellence in classroom teaching.
- Stimulates class discussions and student participation.
- Creates an atmosphere that fosters critical thinking.
- Compiles, administers, and grades examinations in a timely manner.
- Adheres to University policies in grading and posting of grades
- Controls and monitors ongoing instructional activities and systems in order to maintain adherence of prescribed standards and student evaluation.
- Holds students accountable for the acquired competency in their performance, and assists students in re-mediation to acquire and maintain competence.
- Motivates students through instructional and counseling activities toward high levels of contribution to the discipline.
- Conducts conferences with students concerning academic and clinical competence and progress.
- Records and maintains data for student records, grades, accreditation, and school studies (i.e. test item banks, course evaluation portfolio, annual course reports, etc.).
- Coordinates and manages the course implementation in consultation with members of the teach team.
- Participates in scholarship through teaching, application, and the integration, and discovery of knowledge.
- Participates in recruitment and retention programs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be familiar with word processing software and have a basic understanding of computers and their application in an academic setting.
- Ability to motivate students to excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to teach through a variety of mechanisms to effectively instruct students.
Qualifications:
Minimum master’s degree in nursing; earned or pursuing doctorate in nursing or terminal degree preferred. Experience in student assessment and evaluation preferred but will mentor novice faculty. Current unencumbered registered nurse (RN) licensure for professional practice with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.

Music Instructor Pool - Adjunct/PT
Louisiana Christian University is seeking qualified applicants to build a pool of part-time adjunct music instructors. Positions will be offered as needed depending on departmental needs. Potential openings include: (a) private instruction in at least one orchestral or band instrument and (b) courses in music ministry/worship arts.
REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates will hold at least a master’s degree with a concentration in music performance, music education, music ministry, or comparable field. Preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate an ability to teach students who possess a broad range of musical abilities and backgrounds.
LCU is a NASM-accredited institution that offers a variety of academic programs, including a B.A. in Music, B.A. in Worship Leadership, and a B.M. in Vocal or Instrumental Music Education.
