Professor, students accepted into art show

Louisiana Christian University’s Assistant Professor of Art Michael Williams, along with two art students, have had artwork accepted into the River Oaks 10th Annual 5x5x5 Art Show.

Williams’ piece is titled “Itch.” Julia Weaver, a sophomore graphic design major from Harrisonburg, was accepted with her artwork “Hotdog.” Juliette Elsayed’s piece is titled “Jaguar Portrait.” Elsayed is a junior graphic design major from Moreauville.

“It is a big deal that two students’ works were accepted to this show because it is a national show, and there were over 190 submissions from all over the country,” Williams said.

The annual show features miniature works from artists around the United States, according to the River Oaks website. The guest juror for the 2025 exhibition is artist and educator Ross Jahnke.

The show opens Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. at River Oaks Square Arts Center in downtown Alexandria.
