About

Dr. Steven Bello specializes in Economics and Finance. He currently holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the ACBSP-accredited School of Business and Management at California Southern University and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics from the AACSB-accredited School of Economics and Management at Wuhan University. To deepen his research and business analytics expertise and leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) in his fields, Dr. Bello is currently pursuing Postgraduate studies in Data Science and Business Analytics (DSBA) at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Bello has taught several Economics and business courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels since 2005 at various institutions in several countries, including China, Canada, and the United States. He taught at the Wuhan University of Technology, University of Phoenix, Meritus University, Austin Community College, and Ambrose University.

At Louisiana Christian University, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor of Economics and Finance and a Holder of the James C. Bolton Endowed Professorship in Business, Professor Bello has taught several courses,including the Principles of Micro and Macroeconomics, Special Topics in Economics, International Business, Managerial Finance, Economic Growth and Environment, Biblical Financial Management, Public Sector Economics, Money & Banking, and the Development of Economic Thoughts. He also teaches several graduate-level courses, including Business as a Mission, Economics and Global Business, Entrepreneurship, and Operations Management.

Dr. Bello has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and has served as a reviewer for various academic Journals, including the Journal of Applied Economics, Economic Letters, and the Contemporary Economic Journal. He has presented papers at several international conferences in different countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

While Professor Bello is interested in several areas of economics and Business research, including income inequality, labor economics, human capital development, and de-dollarization, he is currently focused on small business research, examining the subject from various perspectives.

In addition to his academic career, Dr. Bello has acquired significant managerial experience from both academic and non-academic institutions. At the University of Alberta, where he worked just before joining the LCU team, Dr. Bello served for nine years, six of which he was the Assistant Director for Finance, worked with Development Directors, and administered approximately $50 million in operating, project, and research funds for the CIUS institute, at the Institution’s Art Faculty.
