About Jason Mercer

Jason Mercer serves as the Coordinator of Distance Learning and Title III Activity Director for the Center for Online Innovation and Development at Louisiana Christian University. As a former online student completing coursework in both his undergraduate and graduate degrees online, Mr. Mercer looks forward to expanding opportunities for adults to pursue their education online at Louisiana Christian University.

Prior to coming to LCU, Mr. Mercer worked as an education and technology consultant for the Louisiana Department of Education, Baton Rouge Area Chamber, CTE Leadership Academy, and provided professional development training for secondary teachers throughout the state at the district and state levels. Mr. Mercer served as the director of technology for the CTE Leadership Academy, a hybrid online training program, created through the New Skills for Youth grant to provide training and opportunity for certification to individuals interested in becoming CTE supervisors at the district and state levels. Mr. Mercer has served as a youth and children’s minister for over 20 years in area churches and currently teaches 4-6 grade Bible study at Family of Grace.

Mr. Mercer earned his secondary teacher certification from Louisiana State University in Biology, General Science, and Digital Literacy. He taught secondary and adult education courses in Winn Parish for six years prior to becoming a private consultant. He is an active member of the Louisiana Association of Business Educators previously serving as conference chairman, vice president, president, and past president. He has also served as the southern representative for the North American chapter of the International Society of Business Educators.
