About Kathleen McGinty-Johnston
Kathleen McGinty-Johnston is the Director of ESL and a lecturer in English. After teaching at Louisiana Christian University as an adjunct instructor, she joined the faculty full-time in 2016. As a Teaching Assistant at Baylor University, she was selected as the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant and was invited to become a Graduate Fellow at Baylor’s Academy for Teaching and Learning. She has presented her research in both national and international conferences and is currently researching effective classroom methods for teaching developmental writing skills and classroom engagement, with an emphasis on the use of digital resources. She is also involved with the ESL community, seeking new methods for student engagement and cultural development. Her other research interests include Victorian literature, including female poets and early feminist writings.
