About
Steven has developed and taught several Economics, Finance, and Business courses at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels, including Principles of Micro & Macroeconomics, International Business, Managerial Finance, Economic Growth & the Environment, Public Sector Economics, Money & Banking, Economics & Global Business, Entrepreneurship, and Operations Management. Since 2005, he has taught at various institutions in several countries, including the US, Canada, and China. He taught at Wuhan University of Technology, the University of Phoenix, Meritus University, Austin Community College, and Ambrose University.
At Louisiana Christian University (LCU), Dr. Bello currently serves as an Associate Professor of Economics and Finance and teaches a range of courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, in face-to-face and online formats. He is the Holder of the prestigious James C. Bolton Endowed Professorship in Business.
Dr. Bello has acquired significant managerial experience from both academic and non-academic institutions. At the University of Alberta, where he worked just before joining the LCU team, Steven served for nine years, six of which he spent as Assistant Director for Finance, working with Development Directors, and administering approximately $50 million in operating, project, and research funds for CIUS, Faculty of Arts.
Dr. Bello has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and has served as a reviewer for various academic Journals, including the Journal of Applied Economics, Economic Letters, and the Contemporary Economic Journal. He has presented papers at several international conferences in different countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. In the past three years, he has participated in several academic fora, including the Hillsdale Free Market Forum, the Christian Business Faculty Association, the Allied Social Science Association, and the Southern Economic Association conferences, thereby staying up to date on pedagogy and research in his field. His current research interests include small business, labor economics, and human capital development. He is currently focused on small business research, examining the subject from various perspectives.
