Mr. John Eric Rivoire was raised in Monroe, Louisiana, as the oldest of six children, he pursued his education at Christian faith-based schools from kindergarten through his freshman year of college. Married to his bride of nearly 50 years, Emilie, they have two children and five grandchildren, John enjoys hobbies including amateur (ham) radio, electronics experimentation, astrophotography, and flying as a private pilot.
His extensive background includes roles as a hospital administrator and CEO at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital of Natchitoches, where he led operational improvements and specialized in long-term acute care. A skilled clinician, John excels in critical care, ventilator management, and IV therapy. As a Major in the US Air Force Reserve, activated post-9/11, he served as a NICU RN and troop commander in the Persian Gulf, enhancing medical readiness processes.
He is an accomplished nurse educator and healthcare professional with over 30 years of experience in nursing, administration, and military service. Holding an MSN from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, John serves as an Associate Professor of Nursing at Louisiana Christian University, having previously taught at Northwestern State University in the ASN and LPN-to-RN programs while supporting the BSN program as a clinical instructor. Committed to mentoring nursing students, he fosters quality healthcare education and professional development.
