About Mfon-Abasi Obong

Mfon-Abasi Obong is a Costume Designer and Technologist. She received her MFA in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Virginia (UVa) and her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University with a BA in Theater, concentrating in Costume Design. Previous designs at LCU includeDie Fledermaus, Cinderella, and the upcoming musical Into the Wood. Previous credits include The Room, Fury Tails with a Twist, Pullman Car Hiawatha(Hangar Theatre), Anon(ymous), Urinetown(Groton School), Nine Parts of Desires, Our Town, Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play(UVa). Mfon-Abasi enjoys telling stories throughcostumes and mentoring students on their theatrical costume designs. She loves designing clothing because it allows her to create a sense of time and place that promotes cultural awareness through clothes.
