About Dr. Francis Powell

Dr. Francis Joseph Powell has over 20 years of experience in higher education instruction having taught in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs at universities in Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana. Dr. Powell has had several publications in refereed journals and has made numerous presentations at national social work conferences. His clinical practice experience includes working in the field of mental health, corrections, and with American Veterans with PTSD. Much of Dr. Powell’s research interests reflect a social conscience theme. Dr. Powell and his wife Rena are both motorcyclist enthusiasts and live in Pineville Louisiana with their miniature schnauzer Noah. Both are dedicated and committed Christians who attend True Vine Baptist Church.
