Dr. Amber Hyatt

Dr. Amber Hyatt grew up in Deville, Louisiana.  She is a first generation college student. She graduated from Upper Iowa University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Master of Higher Education. After the completion of her master’s degree she attended Louisiana Christian University for her teaching certification through the Teaching Education Alternative Certification Honors (TEACH) Program for certification in first-fifth grades and general mild/moderate Special Education. She earned her Doctor of Education in K-12 Leadership from University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Prior to her work in higher education she served as an educator in the K-12 public school system. She has taught kindergarten, special education, and inclusion for math, science, and social studies. Her specialization area is Special Education and her research is focused on the Effects of Childhood Trauma on Educational Attainment. She is married to Daniel and they have 3 children Michael, Drake, and Allison.  She teaches 1st grade Catechism at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Ball and coaches Upward Cheer at First Baptist Church in Pineville.
