About Charlotte Oates- Smith, LCSW – BACS
Charlotte Smith is beginning her first year with the Louisiana Christian University Master of Social Work Program as an Assistant Professor. She brings extensive practical experience and knowledge to the classroom due to the numerous roles she has worked in as both a clinician and supervisor for the past 25 years. She has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1998 and has served as a clinician, co-supervisor and supervisor for seventeen school-based health centers for 18 years. Additionally, Charlotte has been involved in joint commission, pert audits, and insurance reviews throughout her career with school-based health.
As a clinician, Charlotte has provided individual, group, and family counseling as well as crisis intervention to high school students and their families. She has also served as a counselor for patients recovering from opioid addiction for six years. Mrs. Smith has provided supervision as a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor for LMSW’s seeking licensure since 2012. She has supervised seven master level social workers toward licensure with three having completed and received LCSW status.
