Mission Statement
The LCU psychology program offers a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree. The study of psychology here at Louisiana Christian University is dedicated to furthering the understanding of the human mind, human behavior, human interaction, and interaction within society through theory and Christian values. We strive to promote Christian values into the field of psychology so that our students are equipped and able to serve individuals, agencies, and communities throughout our country and the world in the most impactful way possible bringing empathy, compassion, and love to those they serve.
Psychology Club
The goal of the LCU Psychology club is to create a foundation of academic success for its members, engage in social events with its members to encourage the importance of giving to our community and others, establish strong relationships between members and faculty/staff, and create opportunities within the campus and community to make an impact on others.
The Psychology program goals include:
Program graduates will have obtained knowledge in the core disciplines of psychology including social, developmental, cognitive, history, personality, and clinical practice which are required to be competent psychologist.
Program graduates will have an effective understanding of research methods and statistics.
Program graduates will possess ethical and cultural awareness, sensitivity, and skills that make them competent psychologists.
Program graduates will possess an understanding in how Christian faith and values play a critical role in understanding individuals and application into the field of psychology.
Program graduates will possess knowledge and skills that prepare them for graduate school to further their education in the field of psychology, counseling, or social work fields.
